Platinum Games' cult classic available now on Steam

7 years after it's initial release, Sega has released the first Bayonetta on Steam. Prior today the game was only available on PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii.

On April 1st Sega released a small free side scrolling game called 8-bit Bayonetta. The game's achievements pointed to a website that had Bayonetta 1 art and a countdown to April 11th.

As soon as the counter hit zero Sega announced that the game was available on Steam. The trailer boasts 4K resolution and 60fps gameplay as the PC port's differentiating features as well as both English and Japanese voice overs.

As PCGamer notes the PC port is well optimized albeit with a 60fps lock. Sega also released a PC Developer Diary on YouTube to promote the port.

Platinum Games' spokesperson noted in a recent interview, "The PC market is huge and can definitely not be ignored.[...] if it were up to us, we’d port all of our games to PC, but it all depends on the publishers".

If you buy the game before April 25th, you'll get the Digital Deluxe Edition for no extra cost, which includes a five-track soundtrack, digital artbook, wallpapers and avatars.
