The expansion pass will contain 2 DLCs priced at $19.99, and is available March 3rd.

The expansion pass for the upcoming Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been announced by Nintendo. It will include 2 DLC packs, the first coming in Summer 2017, and the second Holiday 2017. As well as this, with the purchase of the expansion pass there will be bonus content released on March 3rd, in the form of 3 new treasure chests.

These treasure chests can be found in the Great Plateau, appearing within the game as soon as the expansion pass is purchased. Two of the chests will contain useful items, while the other holds an exclusive in-game piece of clothing; a t-shirt with the Nintendo Switch logo on it.

DLC Pack 1 will add a new Cave of Trials challenge, a new Hard Mode and an additional map feature. DLC Pack 2 is more substantial, boasting a new original story, a new dungeon and additional challenges.

The expansion pass for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild  can be purchased for $19.99 in the US, and £17.99 in the UK.
