Earlier today, Bungie followed up Tuesday’s Destiny 2 teaser with the game’s official worldwide reveal trailer.
While viewers are not shown any gameplay, details on the game’s story are unveiled as "Rally the Troops" cuts back and forth between speeches being made by two of the series' returning characters. One half of the trailer features rousing dialogue from Commander Zavala, while the other focuses on Nathan Fillion’s Cayde-6 who isn't quite as effective at "Rallying" his group of misfits.
“Humanity’s last safe city has fallen to an overwhelming invasion force led by Ghaul, the imposing commander of the brutal Red Legion," the video description states. "To defeat the Red Legion and confront Ghaul, you must reunite humanity’s scattered heroes, stand together, and fight back to reclaim our home.”
Coinciding with the new trailer, Bungie also confirmed a multitude of rumors that the game will indeed be getting a Windows PC release, and that the title will launch on September 8th.
Pre-orders are available right now, and players that do so will be granted early access to the beta (the exact dates of which will be announced later). As expected, customers will have a variety of different editions from the standard $59 edition up to a $249 collector's edition.
