At this year's Consumer Electronics Show HTC revealed a new version of their VR headset, Vive Pro. They've provided a trailer to show off the device, which you can watch above.
The new headset will feature higher resolution displays, integrated headphones with amplifies and 3D spatial audio, as well as a redesigned head-strap for added comfort.
The Vive Pro displays will offer a 2880x1600 combined resolution (1440x1600 for each eye) and will also feature dual microphones with active noise cancellation and dual front-facing cameras. The new headset will be backwards compatible with both 1.0 and 2.0 SteamVR tracking, and you will be able to use up to four base stations for room tracking on it.
HTC also announced the Vive Wireless Adapter, compatible with both Vive and Vive Pro headsets. The wireless adapter will let users play without any cables connected to the headset, but it will introduce a battery that will need to be charged. It will use the 60Hz Wireless Gigabit technology from Intel to connect to the PC.
HTC says that full release date and pricing details for Vive Pro and the wireless adapter will be unveiled soon.
